Southampton Model Railway Exhibition 2019 - part 2

4th weekend of January 2019 and my 4th model railway exhibition!
This was my 2nd new show out of the 4 - Southampton Model Railway Society's annual exhibition in Eastleigh.
Im not a great fan of exhibitions in schools and this show was a good example of why.
A great space - a sports hall - was well utilised and the cafe was also a great place (with good food service too). However, there were a few, smaller rooms or studies, which dont lend themselves to this type of thing. One was particularly dark.
So lets talk about the layouts. There were a number of layouts that looked great, but were suffering with a lack of movement. This was also noted by a friend of mine - in fact, it was one of the first things they commented on! The reasons for this seemed to be the norm - lack of familiarity in operation for the operators or layouts which are too demanding electrically.
There were some absolute beauties however - full of activity and interesting to watch. My 2 favourites were Campbells Quarry and Atlantic Road - completely different, but equally great to watch - thank you!
