YUKI URUSHIHARA

Yuki was born and raised in a musical family, with a violinist mother and a cellist father. He started to play the trumpet at 7 and the piano at 12. He earned his his Bachelor and Master Degrees for trumpet performance at the HMT Rostock, Germany. He was a member of several youth orchestras, which granted him extensive musical experience. These include Junior Philharmonic Orchestra Tokyo, Asian Youth Orchestra (Hong Kong), as well as being understudy with the Staatsoper Berlin, and the Orchestra Akademie at Norddeutsche Philharmonic Rostock. From 2018 Yuki Urushihara moved to Hanoi, Vietnam, and until 2021 he worked as associate principal trumpet player at the Sun symphony orchestra in Hanoi, an orchestra he remains as trumpet player until today. In 2021 Yuki Urushihara founded Hanoi Brass Community, of which he is music director. He also founded and manages the annual Hanoi Brassweek Festival, which started in 2021.

He finished his Music studies at Lake Forest College in Illinois. He has been an active musician on the Hanoi classical music scene since 2012, being pianist for the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet’s orchestra and Opera troupe, and regular accompanist of instrumentists and vocalists for concerts, competitions, and auditions. He is Music teacher of Alexandre Yersin international French high school, co-founded the Kosmos Opera project, and is pianist and administrator of Hanoi Brass Community.
