MathNook’s Coordinate Grid teaching tool is a great way for students to get familiar with the x/y coordinate plane. Students are able to reinforce/practice plotting points on the coordinate grid. It is a great online application for the classroom, math centers or home. A great application for teachers, students, parents or homeschoolers.

This video shows you how to configure and use the various modes in the Coordinate Grid application. In this video you will see how to customize the display and hide the configuration panel. Resizing and moving the objects on the screen will allow you to take advantage of large displays as well as use the application on smaller displays. The video also shows you how to use the 3 modes: Show mode, Quiz Mode and Random Mode. Show Mode is basically a demo or teaching mode that simply shows the x, y coordinate pairs of a point clicked on the coordinate plane. Animated lines show how the x and y pairs are derived. Quiz mode allows the teacher or parent to choose a point on the grid which the student must identify. The Random mode is the same in the fact that the student must identify the ordered pair. The difference is the program automatically chooses the point on the grid.
