All the Things You Are (Jerome Kern)

Описание к видео All the Things You Are (Jerome Kern)

This song is one of the most popular jazz standards of all time. We've recorded it in its complete form but with a new choral setting for the album Heritage. While most of my work is focused on Jewish liturgical music, it always gives me a sense of great pride singing popular hits by Jewish composers who played a critical role in shaping American popular culture in the 20th century. I hope you enjoy and share it with your loved ones.

Time and again I’ve longed for adventure
Something to make my heart beat the faster
What did I long for? I never really knew
Finding your love I’ve found my adventure
Touching your hand, my heart beats the faster
All that I want in all of this world is you
(Chorus)
You are the promised kiss of springtime
That makes the lonely winter seem long
You are the breathless hush of evening
That trembles on the brink of a lovely song
You are the angel glow that lights a star
The dearest things I know are what you are
Someday my happy arms will hold you
And someday I’ll know that moment divine
When all the things you are, are mine

[Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, from
Very Warm for May, 1939]
