This song was written by Jenny Reeves and her husband Gerry and it is about a cheating husband who goes slippin' around on the night his wife is having her baby. The wife calls looking for him and ends up talking to the girl he's messing around with and asks for help because she's in labor. The wife and baby die that night and they look down on the husband from heaven the next day as he weeps his bitter tears.
