First Alert Weather Day | Warm afternoon with scattered t-showers

Today is a First Alert Weather Day followed by another Saturday when much colder weather arrives.

Fog has been slow to lift out this morning, but sunshine should break through by the lunch hour. Peeks of sunshine send temperatures through the 60s and into the 70s inside the core of metro Atlanta this afternoon. Temperatures may stay in the upper 60s where clouds are more stubborn to break up this afternoon; north metro and mountains.

A cold front approaches from the northwest this afternoon, accompanied by a broken line of showers and possibly a couple thunderstorms. Rain will be hit-or-miss between 3 and 7 p.m. or so. Don’t cancel your plans. But, remain aware that a quick burst of rain could send your plans indoors for a few minutes.
