Richard Chase was known as The Vampire of Sacramento, due to his obsession with blood. At first he would kill animals and eat them raw and drink their blood, however Richard soon moved onto humans including a 20 month old toddler. Richard Chase is still used as the classic example of the disorganised killer, but what led him to commit such disturbing acts, and could anything have been done to prevent Richard Chase acting out his blood fantasies?
