The Best Order to Add Ornamentation to Irish Fiddle Tunes

Ornamentation is one of the trickiest parts of Irish traditional fiddling, but also one of the most fun! To help you avoid frustrating practice sessions, I’ve laid out an order you can use to add ornamentation to your tunes WITHOUT sacrificing your rhythm and groove.

In this tutorial, I’m playing a reel called The Earl’s Chair to demonstrate each of these ornaments, but you can apply these tips to other tune types as well!
