A dramatic love story filmed in Newfoundland in 1931 with actual footage from the S.S. Viking during one of it's sealing voyages before its destruction. This version was produced and remastered in 1996 by the Newfoundland Historic Parks, National Archives of Canada, CBC and the Provincial Archives of Newfoundland in association to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Captain Bob Bartlett's death.

This version also includes a 1974 CBC radio interview with Charles Starrett the lead actor about the making of the film.
