This stage feels totally different in WO3. Rather than your riflemen demolish the Takeda calvary, they sort of just...slowly get defeated by them, so you have to wipe them out yourself right off the bat. They pulled the "surprise, Shingen is alive" for Nobunaga's version of this stage. They don't do that every time in this stage, so it is actually sort of a surprise when he's alive.
