Where ISIS Lives in 2024

ISIS, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, is a militant Islamist group that emerged from al-Qaeda in Iraq. It gained significant attention and control over large areas of Iraq and Syria from around 2014 to 2019. Although the group has been severely weakened over the past several years, fears of a resurgence are forming at this new ISIS base.
