Membranes in Minutes - How to Make Bilayers with Proteins in Blender Fast

In this video I combine my recently released (and free) phospholipid bilayer asset (link below) with some tips to quickly add membrane and transmembrane proteins in Blender. I see these figures in journal covers all the time and wanted to make them more accessible for the scientific community.

For a more in-depth version of this approach I recommend checking out the longer tutorial posted by Blendermeds. This tutorial is meant to be a quick and dirty version of that one and takes advantage of prebuilt options. With this approach you can easily setup a complete render in under 5 minutes... and if you're like me, you can then spend the next 1-3 hours fine tuning everything until it's exactly the way you want.
