This webinar is about how children’s views and preferences can be heard when family law problems are being resolved in court and out of court. We will talk about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, how the Convention gives children the right to be heard, and the research on the benefits to children and parents when children are heard. We will also talk about the strengths and weaknesses of hearing the voice of children through parenting assessments (also called custody assessments and bilateral reports), through shorter views of the child reports, and through other options.
