Transferable Skills and Life Lessons That We Learned From Being YouTubers and Sharing Videos Online!

Aloha all! We are Alexus and Michi: Fourth year PhD students at University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this week’s video, we share 8 transferable skills that we learned from being YouTubers. These skills can definitely help you, even if you aren’t a YouTuber or a student!

Our YouTube journey began 3 years ago, when Alexus posted her first YouTube video of her moving to Hawaii during the pandemic. She began making PhD vlogs about her life as a PhD student living in Oahu, Hawaii. About a year later, Michi joined and we started making YouTube videos together about our life as an international (German American) LGBT couple, PhD student and graduate school life, life in Hawaii, and other educational videos. Now, we are finally monetized and have grown our channel to 1,062 subscribers. These are some of the life lessons and skills that we learned along the way!
