Fly fishing Idaho salmonfly hatch

The salmonflies started coming off, and the fish started moving to eating big dries. With some epic scenery and amazing takes with a big dry fly, it was a fly fisherman’s dream. Me and Ben take advantage of it and quickly move to fishing a single dry fly watching these big wild rainbows come up and destroy a size 6 chubby on top was absolutely awesome! What a day on the water and great way to enjoy fly fishing the way it was meant to be! In this video we’re also using our Thomas and Thomas contact ll nymphing rods with a weight forward fly line, they handle the big flies and fish perfectly fine, hope y’all enjoy this video of some biggens eating some big dry flies!
