Why are mountain bike tyres so confusing? Finding the right tyres for your mountain bike can be a real headache. There are more genres of bike than ever before and more tyres, too. The plethora of tread patterns, compounds and casings for you to wrap your head around (and wrap around your wheels) is enough to get both in a spin.

In this video, we explain why it’s important to get the right rubber for your bike, why tyres are so confusing in the first place and beg the bike industry to bang their heads together to make life less tiresome for us mountain biking punters.
