One of the older chicks can be seen here in the bottom right-hand corner and one of the youngest chicks in the centre at the top. Size wise, the younger chick is now about 80% the size of the larger chick, which is almost adult size.

The older chick has lost almost all of its downy feathers, as well as being a rich green over much of its body, with a red crown and blue cheeks and shoulder highlights.

The younger chick still has down covering most of its body. The green is definitely showing through, however it is much more difficult to see the blue and the red. Other intermediate stages can be seen, such as the birds on the left and right hand sides of the smaller chick, which have green, blue and red feathers, but still a lot of downy feathers on their head.
