Experience the brand-new hand-tracking system in Skydive Sim — created for the Meta competition. This update brings an incredibly natural, intuitive way to move, fly, deploy, and control your canopy using nothing but your hands.
👉 This hand-tracking update is currently available ONLY on the Public Beta Channel.
Anyone can join the beta to try these gestures today.
In this video, I walk through every gesture currently supported in Skydive Sim — from walking on the platform, to freefall maneuvers, flips, back-fly, sit-fly, head-down, canopy control, emergency procedures, and even jetpack flight.
What’s New With Hand Tracking
Skydive Sim uses multiple player states and dozens of gestures, so we designed a system that avoids accidental inputs while feeling smooth and realistic:
🟡 Walking: Make a fist and slowly raise your left thumb — more input = more speed
🟢 Freefall Turns: Twist your wrists to turn left or right
🟦 Freefall Movement: Push the air to move forward, backward, left, or right
🔄 Rolls & Back-Fly: Use specific hand poses to roll or transition to back-flying
⬇️ Head-Down: Rotate your hands and transition fully vertical
🪂 Deployment: Use a wave gesture — based on real skydiving hand signals
🎛️ Toggles (Yellow): Hold index finger out
🔴 Front Risers (Red): Make a full fist to dive your canopy
✂️ Cutaway: Pull near where the cutaway handle is in real world skydiving
🆘 Reserve Deployment: Wave to open
🚀 Jetpack Mode: Rock n Roll Gesture to turn on/off jetpacks
Open hands to increase thrust, make fists to descend
🧭 Jetpack Hover & Steering: Adjust hand openness to hover or fly
Push against air to turn and move
👍 Jump Gesture: Thumbs up = simple jump on the ground
…and much more.
This update makes Skydive Sim feel more immersive and physical than ever — giving jumpers real control without needing controllers.
