Velocity Selector: An Explanation

Описание к видео Velocity Selector: An Explanation

This video explains how a velocity selector filters out charged particles with velocities that are not desired. Two worked examples are also included. A velocity selector is used as a velocity filter for charged particles to select them based on their speed or velocity. For example, in electron microscopes, spectrometers and mass spectrometry. It consists of perpendicular uniform electric and magnetic fields. Charged particles with the desired velocity will travel straight through the velocity selector while particles with other velocities will be filtered out.
