Some chameleons will lay eggs in the nearest potted plant while other are picky and looking for a more specialized laying site. They may dig multiple holes waiting for the right feeling. So, this is the laying bin design I have used with success over the years to get picky females to find a place they will be happy with.
Now, this isn't a guarantee. The parameters and things that can go wrong with egg laying are myriad. But, it increases your chances and, when it comes to egg laying, every odd in your favor is worth it!
