NEW! Buy a high quality cell with the correct terminal already soldered on: https://retrogamerepairshop.com/produ...

Requires 1x Micro JST PH 1.25 2 PIN FEMALE PLUG CONNECTOR (or to salvage the battery connector off an OEM battery) and 1x 802535 LiPo battery. That's it. Even easier than my SP mod since no custom PCB is required.

I used these connectors: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-Pairs-Mic...

And these batteries (not recommended, see below): [removed link because one of the two batteries I ordered has already fucked off on me]

I do not recommend the batteries I linked. One of the two I ordered arrived with a faulty protection board (battery cell is still fine so I can salvage it but it would be unusable for this mod) and both of them tested well below the stated capacity. These are low quality cells. Cells from a reputable vendor would perform much better than these.

If you'd rather just get something ready to go (note that the connector will still require modification), I also ordered two aftermarket replacement batteries. Both were more expensive and lower performance. I do not recommend these batteries either. They do work but there are much better options (like the above linked battery).

HSABAT '3100mAh' Replacement Battery: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/40002...

At the end of the video when I ran all the Micros against each other, I tested the power usage. They were all within one or two mA so the difference should be negligible. All were ran at max brightness with the volume muted. Minimum brightness would yield even more interesting results but would have taken much longer to test. With the numbers I measured on my previous video (linked above), we can extrapolate that low brightness would grant around 60% more battery life (10 hours to 16 hours).

I measured the capacity of both GBM batteries again after the tests as it has been a couple months since I originally measured them. The HSABAT measured 552mAh and the OSTENT 'OEM' battery measured 499mAh. This partially explains the run time discrepancy that I experienced despite them initially measuring the same.
