I wanted to try a good Nam Prik Ong and Gaeng Hang Lay Moo, two Northern Thai dishes.

I heard that Tong Tem Toh, this restaurant in Nimman area, has both dishes, and serves pretty decent renditions of them too.

Nam Prik Ong is a type of Thai condiment made from a base of chili peppers, tomatoes, and onions that has been ground into a paste. It is often served with steamed vegetables or as a dipping sauce for boiled eggs. It is typically quite spicy and has a bold, savory flavor.

Gaeng Hang Lay Moo is a type of spicy Thai curry made with pork belly, tamarind juice, and a variety of aromatic spices and herbs. It is typically served over rice and is known for its rich, complex flavor and aroma. The curry is traditionally made with a variety of ingredients, including turmeric, cumin, coriander, garlic, and shallots, which give it its distinctive taste and smell. It is usually quite spicy and is often garnished with fresh herbs, such as cilantro or basil, before serving. Tong Tem Toh's Gaeng Hang Lay Moo has peanuts inside, which I liked.

Let's take a bite together!
