1953 Oldsmobile 98 Fiesta at Ellingson Motorcars in Rogers, MN

This 1953 Oldsmobile 98 Fiesta Convertible is one of only 458 Fiesta Convertibles produced following General Motors' Motorama and is an absolutely gorgeous car! In 1953, three of General Motors' most luxurious brands, Cadillac, Buick, and Oldsmobile, each introduced a show car for General Motors to take on its show circuit across the country, the Cadillac Eldorado, the Buick Skylark, and the Oldsmobile Fiesta. At first glance, the Oldsmobile Fiesta looks a lot like a standard Oldsmobile 98 especially since it utilized the same body and chassis as the 98. However, a more careful look at the car reveals special Fiesta trim, special Fiesta-only two-tone paint and a lowered wraparound "panoramic" windshield. 1953 was also a notable year for Oldsmobile since it was the first time that all Oldsmobiles came equipped with a 12 volt electrical system, which was a major upgrade from the old 6 volt systems available in the previous years. This particular Oldsmobile Fiesta comes to us from a west coast collector who owned and cared for this car for nearly 30 years. Under the hood on this Oldsmobile 98 Fiesta is a 303 "Rocket" V8 engine paired with a recently rebuilt single 4 barrel Rochester carburetor. The 303 Rocket V8 is backed by a Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission. Due to the fact that the Olds 98 was the top-of-the-line Oldsmobile in 1953, and the Fiesta was the highest trim level available, these cars came absolutely loaded with options! Including power steering, power brakes and white vinyl power convertible top. Further adding to the luxury of this classic Oldsmobile is the fact that this Fiesta is equipped with power windows and a power front bench seat. A rear-mounted continental kit and a pair of color-matched fender skirts further add to the iconic fifties look. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this Fiesta are in wonderful condition as well, as is the special wraparound windshield, and all of which show quite nicely. The exterior on this Fiesta 98 has been correctly refinished in a beautiful paint scheme consisting of Alpine White over Raven Red. A set of wide whitewall tires with special Fiesta Deluxe Spinner wheelcovers complete the exterior look on this rare and highly collectable 1953 Oldsmobile. The interior is absolutely stunning! The front power bench seat and fixed rear bench are correctly upholstered in Red and White leather that looks fantastic. The padded dash, door panels and steering wheel are all in fantastic condition as well and all of which appear to be in their stock configuration. The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, amp gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, and fuel gauge, as well as a Super Deluxe AM radio and clock.
