After arriving in Ember, we look for exculpating evidence and apply wyrmsmage to all the dead bodies we find. We also find Guyven of the Road again and have a chat. We then head down a well after hearing a sound below, and find Marcus, who survived. He heads back to Port Llast, while we venture deeper into the underground well. Inside is a tribe of goblins who have taken up residence. They mistake us for being with another intruder whom they killed, but we convince them we're not. The chief makes a deal with us to kill some spiders deeper in the cave, after which he'll give us a ring from the intruder. We head deeper, finding the source of the goblins' magical powers, the glowstone, and the aforementioned spiders. After we kill the hostile ones, we find a large spider who seems to want to communicate. Elanee interprets this as hunger, so we tell the spider we'll find it some food. At the end of the cave is a door which leads to the forest of Duskwood, where the trees there imbue spell failure on everyone.
