The biceps brachii muscle is perhaps the most popular muscle in the human body, and it is located in the anterior compartment of the arm. Despite having over 650 muscles, if someone asks you to "show them your muscle," you immediately know they are talking about the biceps.

The biceps brachii has two heads, both of which originate into the scapula bone. The short head originates at the coracoid process of the scapula, while the long head of the biceps brachii originates at the supraglenoid tubercle of the scapula.

The functions / actions of the biceps brachii is elbow flexion, supination of the forearm, arm/shoulder flexion, and stabilization of the shoulder joint.

This muscle is innervated by the musculocutaneous nerve (C5 and C6).
