Amtrak P42DC

AMTK 148 temporarily assists the Pacific Surfliner service for the second time in a 10 month span! It was less than a year ago when this same P42DC ran down here during Thanksgiving time. It has been removed and went out trailing yesterday on the Southwest Chief.

I find it funny that out of all the P42DC engines out there combined with the constant circulating, moving from city to city across the whole Amtrak network, the AMTK 148 happened to find itself in LAX again coincidentally during a Charger engine shortage! What are the odds? Ha!

Pretty solid raspier sounding K5LA on this engine... sounds about the same more or less from 10 months ago. A welcomed horn for sure amongst all the raised letter K5LA's on the Surfline!

1:18 Amtrak 566 again, now at Noell St.

4:30 Amtrak 774 arrives into Old Town
5:18 Amtrak 774 departs
6:16 CDTX 6952 arrives into Old Town on 777
7:10 AMTK 148 powers out of Old Town with the GE chug
