I would like to give sincere thanks to all the
musicians from whom I have learned'the tunes on
this record, and all the others who have helped,
instructed or encouraged me. I would like to dedicate
it to my late-paternal grandfather, Dick Gaughan of
Ballina, Co. Mayo, who probably has had more
influence on me than anyone else. I think he would
have approved. I would also like to express my
gratitude to Tom Hickland for playing piano here and
for all his helpful suggestions, the serious ones of
which were followed.
