The Glenfarclas 21 versus the Lismore 21 - Is Lismore a Glenfarclas whisky?

'It' has been around for a couple years on my shelf and I haven't reviewed it even though I had planned to put it up against another one of my whiskies. And what is that whisky and why haven't I reviewed it? It is the Lismore 21 and I was hoping to do a shootout with the Glenfarclas 21. The problem is, I brought the Glenfarclas 21 over to a dinner barbecue and I noticed it somehow mysteriously disappeared when I was ready to leave. Now etiquette would tell me to leave a wine or inexpensive whisky behind but my etiquette does not leave a Glenfarclas 21 behind. I give away enough whiskey and other spirits so I don't feel guilty about leaving with what's left of that whisky. That whisky did show up at a later date but with only a few fingers of whisky left in the bottle. The moral of the story is don't bring an expensive bottle to a.....enough about that.
I decided to wait until the Glenfarclas 21 went on sale again but in the end I figured I would be able to pick it up for less at a duty free shop in the UK. I was going to do a tour of Glenfarclas so I could always get some samples or minis at the distillery.
Well I am back from Scotland with a few Glenfarclas 21, 50ml minis and samples so now I am eager to do that whisky shootout.
Now about the Lismore 21. The big question that I have wanted to be answered was "Who makes this whisky and what distillery does it come from?" I know that William Lundie & Co. produce the whisky but they were bought out by J&G Grant in 2004. J&G Grant are the owners of Glenfarclas distillery. So while I was at the distillery doing the tour I posed that question. What was the answer? Take a seat and enjoy the video. Slàinte Mhath
