Gujarat's PM Awas yojana delivers over 1.3 lakh homes, enhances affordable housing in Ahmedabad

In a rapidly urbanizing and developing country like India, the need of the hour is to provide homes to those who can't afford them. With the belief that every Indian deserves a home, the PM Awas Yojna, a vision championed by PM Narendra Modi and driven by Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, provides financial assistance and builds infrastructure to make home ownership a reality for countless families. So far, Gujarat has constructed over 14 lakh houses under the PM Awas Yojana, 1.3 lakh of which were inaugurated by the Prime Minister in February 2024.

In Ahmedabad, housing for the economically weaker section (EWS) is also being addressed. The A.U.D.A. project in Zundal includes 1,120 affordable homes, each offering comfortable living space with 1 bedroom, 1 kitchen, 1 drawing room, 2 washrooms and a study room. The project will feature 20 blocks of 7-storey buildings with 8 units per floor, along with parking facilities.

Infrastructure includes solar rooftops, lift facilities, children's play areas, and more. Bhavna Parmar, one of the beneficiaries of this scheme from Ahmedabad highlights the financial benefits
