How to build a box of doom for electric guitar recording

Описание к видео How to build a box of doom for electric guitar recording

This video is about how to build a box of doom for guitar recording with a microphone and a speaker cabinet. If you are are guitar player and would maybe like to record your amp with a microphone but you don't know how to do this without going to a studio or disturbing your neighbors this video is for you. I have built a "box of doom" out of plates of coarse chipboard and with absorbing acoustic foam inside. I placed a 1 x 12" speaker cab inside of it (Hughes&Kettner) and put a microphone stand and a Shure SM 57 in front of it. The box absorbs almost all of the noise and I can record my amp with full loudness to achieve the needed punch.

The finished box of doom has the following measurements:

Outer box (without wheels):
(width x depth x height): 99 cm x 88 cm x 78 cm
That is in inches: 38.97 x 34.64 x 30.70

Inner box:
(width x depth x height): 85 cm x 75 cm x 62 cm
In Inches: 33.46 x 29.52 x 24.41
