Hwarang || Ban Ryu x Soo Ho Ep 15-18

I hate Ban Ryu in the first episode but they've done a good job with exploring his character. Ban Ryu went from being my least favorite character to the one I'm most interested in.

To tell you the truth, Ban Ryu is someone I disliked in the beginning, but as the story goes, I find myself more intrigued the more I see of him.

Amongs all the character in the drama, the person who I think is in the most bad situation is Ban Ryu. He is so torn and it is not that easy to just do what his heart leads him to, because his evil father.

I almost wish that Ban Ryu was the main lead (well, Ban Ryu or Sammaekjeong will be fine), I feel like he has the really compelling story.

First of all, I have to talk about Ban-ryu and his wonderful change of heart. It’s been obvious for some time that he’s just never had a strong father figure or real friends who like him for more than his status, so it’s no wonder he has a hard time trusting anyone.

It was lovely to see him come so undone in front of Soo Yeon and then to overhear Soo Ho say that he doesn’t want to cause him more pain, even knowing that he probably helped the assassins get into Hwarang, was the final straw.

He’ll probably never be all buddy-buddy with the other guys, but he’s beginning to find some self-worth in the fact that there are people who do genuinely care about him. Mostly I just want him to be happy, so seeing him realize that someone thinks he’s worthy of concern and love is a beautiful first step.

Way to go, Ban Ryu! He's been tormented for too long and Soo Yeon's belief in him was the light he needed to get past his evil father. With Soo Yeon calling him a good guy and Soo Ho showing worry for were probably the reasons he came back to the good side.

I'm glad he has the conscious and I so like the KIM siblings. These two are the one who brought Ban Ryu to the right path, esp Soo Yeon, I love her! She just chose the perfect timing to tell him that he is a good person.

It really moved his heart along with Soo Ho's words of not wanting to hurt him, I love how Soo Ho is so caring of Ban Ryu despite all the rivalry, he totally cares about Ban Ryu and probably the only one in Hwarang who genuinely cares about him and he looked super annoyed when Ban Ryu joined his gang again.
