Pheromone Trap: A Real Field CCTV Camera to Monitor Pink Bollworm

Project Bandhan - A Knot of PBW Protection", is a grassroot cotton project that demonstrates the efficacy and usefulness of an innovative mating disruption PBKnot technology to control devastating pest Pink Bollworm. As part of Project Bandhan, our grassroot team work in collaboration with local organization to create field level knowledge and educate farmers about usefulness of Pheromone trap based monitoring and control measures for effective management of Pink Bollworm.

In this series, we collaborated with Jain Irrigation's Dr BD Jade, a cotton expert to showcase the installation of pheromone trap - the real CCTV field camera for farmers to monitor cotton crop against pink bollworm.

Project Bandhan is a country-wide, grassroot project supported by PI Foundation and implemented in collaboration with large numbers of partners and collaborators in major cotton growing areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh including Dr. PDKV, Akola, KVK Wardha; KVK Yavatmal; CITI-CDRA; KVK Jalna; Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd.; Ambuja Cement Foundation; AFPRO; KVK Jammikunta Karimnagar and Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University RARS Lam and RARS Nandiyal, under the technical guidance of ICAR- Central Institute for Cotton Research.
