John McBeth's family and friends celebrated the life of a legend in Asian journalism.
A New Zealand-born reporter and author, who covered Asia's story over five decades, John passed away on 7 December 2023.
The memorial was held in Bangkok on 31 May, marking John's 80th birthday.
It brought together people from John's wide and diverse circle of professional and personal friendships built and cultivated over his many decades working in Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines and Indonesia.
Also present was Yuli Ismartono, his wife and partner of 38 years, whom he first met at the FCCT.
