Wow... and with that, that’s the end of Dreambreakers! Well, save for Core/Beyond. Bahamut awaits!
This one employed the tried and true strategy of using Tyro OSB to nullify phase full breaks, and while originally I planned to even bring mug bloodlust and the fullbreak ability to remove Judge Gabranth’s self-buffs, Larsa’s new usb3 with crit damage boost served to keep damage high enough that I didn’t have to worry about them. As with other Dreambreakers with an in-realm source of crit damage boost, the damage was so high that I was able to not even bother using Tyro OSB until the last (third) phase.
Interestingly enough, this realm has not one, not two, but three dps units with a glint+ that grants 2 bars of meter (Basch, Gabranth, Fran), so Tyro likely won’t have the usual complication of routing his meter-entrusting to permit multiple dps toons to fire off two awakenings or an awakening + sync to a pair of break damage caps. Gabranth even has the fun problem of not really having much use for meter after using sync, so hopefully in the future he’ll get another usb or awakening that could pair well with his sync (or alternatively simply an arcane dyad). Still, since I didn’t have to get any meter for him, this let him activate chain and the first historia crystal.
Beyond using Larsa to astra the confuse and stun moves in phase 2, the rest of the fight I found to be pretty straight forward.
Soul Breaks used:
Vaan: glint+ (enwind), AASB1, AASB2
Tyro: AASB, OSB
Larsa: glint+ (proshellhastega), usb2 (party QC2 and WM/support healing chase), usb3 (crit damage boost), Sync
Fran: glint+ (free SB meter), glint+ (switch draw enelement), AASB1, AASB2
Gabranth: glint+ (free SB meter), glint+ (endark stack + instacast 1), Sync, Arcane for the win.
Points/Notes of Interest:
1) No need for the usual combo of Grace + mind break(down) to allow Tyro to effecticely skip phase stops, since a chase on one of Fran’s awakenings has a mind+res+def debuff. Grace alone will work (notably, switching out Fran for Bashe with his awakening yields you the same debuff chase).
2) Mug bloodlust and full break abilities counter the boss’s self-buffs, but Larsa’s new crit damage usb is so strong that you can just leave his self-buffs in tact, even in phase 3.
