What if the Soviet Union defended Poland in WW2?

At the start of the Second World War, Poland was promised protection by the Allies of France and Britain, against German aggression. When Germany invaded Poland on the 1st of September 1939, the Allies declared war, but didn’t do anything on the frontlines.

Poland felt betrayed by their allies, and with the Soviet Union also invading them, the Polish nation disappeared from the map for the next 6 years.

But what if all of that changed, and Poland allied with the Soviet Union? This would prevent a possible Soviet invasion, but most importantly, the Red Army defend Poland against the Germans! Would this Polish-Soviet Alliance change the outcome of the Second World War, and how would it form in the first place? Let’s find out!
