The November 2023 Tohickon Creek Whitewater Release: A Collaborative Compilation with @FrankensteinDIYkayak Kayaking & Rafting Race Course In The Purple Haze, Both Runs, at 3.33ft./850cfs
Do you have an around the campfire kind of Tohickon story, if so, feel free to share and join us next time! For us it went like this:..."You know the biggest raft wins," "Oh, a Swifty," "You wouldn't want to fall out at the top of it...you would want to fall right here," "We're coming up on a big ledge here," "Ugh, we're not going to make it," "There goes their boat," "Ride that wave," "Good job. We got everybody?," "back it up...back paddle...paddle forward, relax," and to many "Whoohoos!" to count!
As with the Stonycreek River, Race Course lived up to its name in every way. With so many line options, what a fast and fun race it would be to have a race at Race Course, and find out which of the maze of lines is the fastest one. Does anyone know the origin or details of how Race Course received its name, or the year in which it was named? Two overturned kayaks were observed half way down, where the Upper and Lower Sections connect, and were safely receiving assistance. What was really eye catching was the Perception Swifty that was spotted at the beginning of Race Course (0:58) - "Oh a Swifty. That's the first time that I have seen a Swifty down this far...That Swifty guy I think doesn't think he can do it." With not being seen at the Take Out for for quite awhile, it remained unseen if the Swifty made it down through Race Course and especially Hat's Rock...where the green kayaker who got boxed into the raft train, giving The Purple Haze with a whack with his paddle, and at some point went over. Two members of our crew assisted him and the recovering of his kayak at the bottom of Hat's Rock.
The guiding and entertainment from two of the finest of @RiverTrailOutfitters premier raft guides (@glenndouglass9921 & Annette B.) made it laugh after laugh all the way the down, where the entertainment was savored just as much as the ledge drops and riding high wave train thrills.

"He Makes Springs Pour Water Into The Ravines; It Flows Between The Mountains. They Give Water To All The Beasts Of The Field; The Wild Donkeys Quench Their Thirst. The Birds Of The Sky Nest By The Waters; They Sing Among The Branches. He Waters The Mountains From His Upper Chambers; The Land Is Satisfied By The Fruit Of His Work." - Psalm 104:11-13
