Actor, director Kevin Costner to open film studio in St. George

Actor and filmmaker Kevin Costner is slated to establish a new film studio in St. George, permanently marking his presence in the community after filming his most recent films there.

Star of popular television series and films like "Yellowstone," "Dances with Wolves," and "The Bodyguard," Costner will establish Territory Studios on property near St. George Airport.

Michele Randall, the mayor of St. George, made the announcement on Tuesday during her State of the City speech.

A film that was shown during the mayor's speech revealed the studio's plans. In addition to 31,750 square feet of production offices and 51,000 square feet of production warehouses, Territory Studios will feature 70,000 square feet of sound stages.

When the studio opens, guests will be able to take a tour and have a meal with a Costner theme.

In 2022 and 2023, Costner shot two parts of a Western in the St. George area. The films will be released in June and August. Costner, Sam Worthington, and Sienna Miller are the main actors in the movies.
