Another shock winner at 50/1 Last Suspect ridden by Welshman Hywel Davies for Anne Duchess of Westminster who also owned the legendary Arkle, Trainer Captain Tim Forster had won it twice before in 1972 with Well To Do and in 1980 with Ben Nevis but it was the impossible finish from Last Suspect by speeding past everything in the closing stages and then to catch and pass Mr Snugfit at the line.
