Hundreds of residents from Kajiado are now in danger of increased cases of urinary tract infections directly attributed to the ongoing drought in the county.
Medics from the county say the decreased water levels mean that residents dont' get adequate hydration, exposing residents to the medical condition that is exasperated by inadequate water supply for both hydration and sanitation. The same water shortage has also been blamed for an increase in eye infections like trachome and cataracts. A non-governmental organisation has pitched camp in the county to assist the affected as the county seeks ways of combating the adverse impact of the drought in the county. Over thirty health workers were deployed in the county over the weekend to assist in handling various ailments afflicting residents
