I've stated in a previous description that the reason Clara is able to get pregnant with Kree is because of the magical mating feather Kree gave her. Let me talk about that a bit more!
The feather attached itself physically to Clara's skull when she placed it there, as it does for any harpy who accepts a mating feather. Once it's a part of her body, the magia within the feather began to imbue itself to Clara and attempt to make biological changes. At first Clara gets pretty sick from the magia in her system, humans are non-magical and therefore can't easily process magia, so eventually the feather slows down the process in order to not push her body past what it can handle.
Kree was extremely nervous during this period because he honestly didn't know how the mating feather would affect a human. He knew that the feather gives a health and fertility boost to the one wearing it and that harpies had been able to gift the feather to other non-harpies in the past with success, but he didn't have specifics. All he had was the absolute assurance that the feather would do everything in it's power to preserve and benefit the one it was attached to. And ultimately, that's what it does for Clara!
I can hear some of you already asking, Will this make Clara live as long as Kree?? Sorry to disappoint but no, not really. She will live into a stout old age and be very healthy during that time, but her life is not extended by more than a decade or two.
Over the course of years the feather slowly began changing Clara in order to be more compatible with Kree. No, she does not start growing feathers or turning into a harpy, but the feather does start to change how her body works in order to be more compatible with magical processes. Though Clara still does not need to eat magia in order to live, she can now eat it without getting sick and eating it regularly does seem to bolster her overall health. The period where she begins eating a lot of it is around when she gets pregnant with Kree's child.
Now a big question everyone had was, Live birth or Egg? I thought saying she's pregnant would make it clear, but I guess yall thought she was 'eggnant' and would be cooking up an egg in there for months at a time. But nope! Clara will give birth like humans do, no egg involved. The pregnancy is much more human than Clara expected, with the exception that she starts craving raw meat and magically rich food.
PS. A lot of you also seemed to miss the point I made in an earlier description that I was not going to depict miscarriage in my shorts of their story. I'm not! This pregnancy goes through with mother and child intact. Also, gender and appearance of the baby will be withheld until the child is born to make it a fun surprise for those who only know me through youtube!
