Exploring fish abundance and biodiversity at an oil and gas platform in the North Sea

DTU Aqua researchers study fish communities around an oil and gas platform in the North Sea.

Researchers explored if there is higher fish biodiversity, fish abundance, and larger fish near the platform.

Results reveal a higher biodiversity and abundance near the platform, revealing how these platforms could positively impact local marine life.

Similarly, many fish are larger in body size near the platform.
