This lecture series is about a general introduction to Educational Philosophy. Through which students will understand the basic nature of Educational Philosophy.
On the complition of the course the students will be able to build up the foundation of Philosophical understanding about Educational Philosophy, under which students will acquire basic understanding about the Educational Philosophy and they can also understand the ultimate objectives of teaching and learning as per major schools of philosophy.

Objectives of Educational Philosophy is to:
This course offers an overview of the key developments in the history of educational philosophical thought.

It introduces dents so various ways in which philosophers engaged with, debáted, contested the established
ways of thinking about aims of education, curriculum, methods of teaching, concept of freedom and discipline, role of teacher.

To expose students to the major debates concerns of educational philosophy in mediaeval and modern times especially about Idealism and Pragmatism School of Philosophy.

Understand the origin and nature of Educational Philosophy . And also it introduce students with classical understanding about Educational Philosophy.

It also inculcates a sense of spirit of Educational Philosophy and its other dimensions related to teaching and learning.

The course would enable students to:

By the end of the course students are expected to be familiar with the major philosophical schools of thought especially about their views on Aims of education, Curriculum, Methods of Teaching, Concept of Freedom and Discipline and Role of Teacher.

Students shall learn how philosophers reconciled traditional educational philosophy with the radical scientific developments of modernity.

Revaluate the various paradigms of understanding about major philosophical schools of thought especially Idealism and Pragmatism and their views on aims of education, curriculum, methods of teaching, concept of freedom and discipline and role of teacher.

To develop a sense of how philosophy works as a critique.
