This is the first of two tutorial videos on creating a textbox system in Game Maker Studio 2. We start from scratch and establish the foundations of a working, flexible textbox system.

In part two we build upon this foundation, integrating more features such as multiple pages of dialogue, multiple NPCs, an inheritance system for rapid prototyping, colour customisation options, a typewriter effect, and a "skip" function.
