In this talk, I illustrate the role of accessible technology in helping to create a more inclusive world. I further reflect on how social preconceptions shape us and how it is possible to turn a perceived weakness into a strength.

Bio: Ioana Gandrabur is a classical guitarist who has been blind since birth. She holds four degrees in music from institutions in Canada, Germany and Switzerland.

She has won prizes from several international guitar competitions, she performs concerts and teaches around the world. Ioana is also a motivational speaker who promotes self-empowerment and helps to shift social preconceptions about disabilities. Passionate about technology, Ioana is a keen advocate for accessible design. She also moderates computer information exchange groups for visually impaired users.
