Gorgeous lead sled. The builder has been a customer of ours for decades. He has owned 125 cars and modified many of them. He built this one 4 years ago and it has only 1,000 miles since it's been finished.

EXTERIOR: Gorgeous color on this chopped Merc. It's been shaved (door handles removed), nosed (trim removed and filled) and decked (trim and trunk lock removed and filled). The hood was also extended at the front center, headlights were frenched and the antenna was frenched. The top was chopped 3 1/2 inches in front, 4 inches in back. The body work was done old school- in lead. All quality work with no issues. The body is laser straight. The paint is a 2002 Chrysler color- Sienna Red Pearl. It is beautiful with a slight purple highlight when the sun hits it. The metal flake is laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished smooth and glossy. The original grill is restored, bumper is rechromed. The moldings down the sides are polished. It has metal fender skirts. In back it has 54 Mercury taillights, rechromed bumper. New glass, the sides have a light tiny. New weatherstrips and gaskets. It cruises on radial Coker whitewalls with 55 Olds spinner hubcaps.

INTERIOR: Beautiful pearl rolled and pleated upholstery. The seats have firm cushions. The door panels and rear deck are upholstered to match. The headliner and wind lace is pearl white. Nice carpet on the floor with matching floormats. The metal trim is all painted like the outside. It has the original style dash in real nice shape. There are aftermarket gauges on the kick panel to monitor the engine's vitals. Ididit chrome tilt column with a 57 Chevy style steering wheel. There's a hidden stereo hidden that is operated by remote, speakers are hidden in the door panels. The dome light works.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Cadillac engines were a popular choice in the old school hot rides because they're the biggest engines available. This motor is A 472 and it was completely rebuilt. Features include a Vintage Air heat and a/c system, power steering and power brakes. There is a lot of chrome dressing it up. On top is a 1950s Cadillac air cleaner. A tri- flow aluminum radiator with a Spaul electric fan and a polished overflow keeps it cool. The firewall has been smoothed out, custom inner fenders were made. The engine bay is painted glossy the hoses and wires are hidden.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: A power release button inside the car pops the trunk lid open. Inside the trunk has rolled and pleated upholstery and carpet.

UNDERSIDE: The original frame is completely rust free with a smooth satin black finish. It has a Camaro front clip with independent suspension and it's been completely rebuilt. In back it has leaf springs with the arches removed to lower the car. It also has new air shocks if you need to raise it up. Authentic old school custom exhaust. It has Smithy glass pack mufflers and functional Lake pipes. Just unfortunately the covers on the side exhaust and you have straight pipes! The brakes have been completely redone, they are disc in front. New fuel tank, lines and sending unit. Looking up at the motor it is clean, starter is new. It has a rebuilt 200 R4 overdrive automatic trans with a remote oil cooler. A custom made drive shaft connects to the original rear end with 4.11 gears. The floors are clean and solid.

This is a classic lead sled done very well. Beautiful colors in and out. Ready to cruise the boulevards!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
