With the new Inflation Reduction Act stripping certain electric cars of eligibility for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit, it is more important now to really consider the delta in price between base and fully-loaded trims of the "less expensive" offerings out there. In this particular case, the Hyundai Kona Electric has a relatively narrow price range, but can you get away with a well-equipped model by skipping the over-$40,000 Limited trim? And further, is the Kona Electric even worth the current hassle involved in getting your hands on one?
