Street Of Dreams Bass Cover

Rainbow’s “Bent Out of Shape” album was released on this date in 1983 and featured this fine song, “Street of Dreams”. Love this song.

I’ve never been a “guitar guy”, meaning, I don’t have any real guitar heroes, but, when the question is asked, Richie Blackmore’s name always comes to mind. I think I like a lot of the classical elements he brings to his music. If pressed, I’d have to say that this might be one of my favorite guitar solos. It’s short. It’s sweet. It employs an octave box. And everybody wants to hear it.

The bass was played by Roger Glover, of course, who I would describe as the John McVie of hard rock - always playing a supportive role and serving the song with just the right part without ever calling any undue attention to himself even though he had the ability to tear it up as demonstrated on some earlier material, like “Highway Star”.

Great vocals as well by Joe Lynn Turner.
