The Visva-Bharati University students have boycotted the semester exams that were due to begin on March 11 and demanded that hostels be reopened immediately. The students are justifying the move by saying that it is a display of solidarity with others for whom the reopening of the hostel is a matter of great importance as they hail from remote areas of the country.

The boycotters said that if such students do not get hostel access, they cannot sit for the exams as the accommodation elsewhere is very expensive. What next for the students of VBU and their struggle for hostels?
