Restoration Of An Old Desk Lamp

In this video I restore a very Old elegant desk lamp (Restoration Of An Desk Lamp )
i found this lamp at the local junkyard. I really liked its design, so I bought it for $5. To be honest, I initially thought this should be a quick and easy project. Of course, getting the reflector back in shape would be tricky, but the rest should be pretty straightforward. How wrong I was! It took me 36 days in the studio to complete this project.restoration
It was really difficult to get the reflector back in shape.ut with a little thought we came up with a very clever tool design that The rest was just sanding. At first I tried to mirror polish the interior. As I couldn't get a satisfactory result, I opted for a satin brushed finish instead, which turned out amazing in my opinion.
i use my own logo. So I wanted to spray the logo with a template sticker cut out with the vinyl cutter, but the small size of the letters didn't allow me to get a clean, crisp result after removing the sticker from the template. Then I tried the other way around and cut some gold vinyl and used the logo itself as a permanent sticker, which worked great and looked super neat. I applied two coats of 2K varnish to seal the sticker.
The old nickel plating was already coming off on some parts, so I removed the old plating, re-polished them all, and re-plated them.

Overall I'm very happy with how the lamp turned out. All the different finishes and colors go very well together. The parts painted in light ivory with the silver inside and the golden logo, the wood painted in black, the reflector nice and shiny and the parts freshly polished and nickel plated.
