BURMA Inhabitants celebrating the Day of Independence on Rangoon Burmese Flag replaces the Union Jack. Sir Hubert Rance joined with the President, Sao Shwe Thaik in a review of troops. Governor, then went aboard Cruiser Birmingham and took leave of the New Burma. People of Rangoon walking streets in best clothes, sucking lollipops - having joy rides in jeeps. Crowds flock to Shwe Dagon Pergoda. A water pageant, ceremonial barge, complete with dancers. Buddha looks down on a people's rejoicings
